Sal Gonzalez
Sal Gonzalez enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp at his local East Los Angeles recruiting office after the events of 9/11. He was deployed to Iraq where he served as a .50 cal machine gunner until he was wounded by a roadside bomb, causing the amputation of a portion of his left leg. After his medical discharge, he relocated to Nashville to pursue the musical dream he put on hold to serve his country. Dustin Wilkes
Georgia native and Iraq veteran, Dustin Wilkes, earned the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the only Marine in history to receive a medal for writing a song. Dustin wrote “One Toy At A Time” for the Toys For Tots Foundation, raising over $350,000 for our nations children. He has been chasing his musical dream in Nashville since his discharge. Crystal Guzman
Crystal Guzman began her music career at an early age in Waterloo, Iowa. She began violin lessons at the age of nine, and taught herself guitar in high school in order to write songs and perform them for her family. She decided after high school to enlist in the U.S. Air Force in order to serve her country and pursue her other calling, nursing, which led her to a deployment in Iraq. Brent Ellis
At an early age, all Brent Ellis wanted to do was sit on the tailgate of his truck and sing Hank Williams songs. Now, he wants other people to sit on their tailgate and sing Brent Ellis songs. Music has always been his passion and he hopes his music will touch the lives of many and make a difference in the world. Brent took a break from his passion to answer the call of duty after 9/11. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served a one year tour in Iraq where he received numerous combat awards for bravery. While there, he wrote the moving song, “The Soldier Song”.
